Residential Wind Power - The Solution To Our Energy Problems

More individuals are rethinking their habits when it comes to energy use. Whatever the reason, people want to reduce the amount of energy they use in their homes and businesses. They're not looking to natural gas, oil and coal anymore. You too may be considering a different type of energy source. If that's the case, residential wind power is becoming more of an affordable option.

Wind Power on the Rise

Renewable energy may be just what you're looking for. Solar and wind power are popular choices for new ways to use energy. You can use home wind turbines and standard wind turbines and join the ranks of many using wind energy worldwide. In fact, the use of wind power in the United States has grown by 32 percent per year from 2004 to 2008. In 2008 alone, it grew 78 percent.

Benefits of Wind Power

You can reap the benefits of saving money on your electric bill if you switch to wind power completely, or at least in part. Using a residential wind turbine can save you up to 90% on costs. Electric companies use non-renewable, expensive forms of energy, oil and coal, and those costs are passed on to you, the consumer. No longer will you have to rely on them to supply you the energy you need for daily living.

Rising Energy Costs Turn People to Wind Power

High energy costs are already on the rise, and are expected to grow 30 fold over five years, according to the American Wind Energy Association. The rate of increase was 53 percent in 2007 across the globe, which resulted in sales of $156 million dollars in residential wind power upgrades. Keep in mind that you can earn tax credits for installing a residential wind turbine if you live in the United States.

The numbers show that people are changing the way they use energy. You're not alone in your efforts to reduce energy costs and lower your utility bills. Residential wind power is the way to go.

"Using a residential wind turbine can save you up to 90% on costs."

How big of a wind turbine do you need to save 90 percent of your costs?

Is this restricted to a particular site such as the great plains or overlooking the ocean?

There are different style turbines with all different specs and requirements. If you are going to cut your bill by 90%, you'll need a fairly large on.

Their use is not limited to the great plains or coastal regions. You first should get a site survey to determine if you have enough wind in your area to warrant this technology. Some will and others will not.

You will need some land. Most manufacturers require these turbines to be at least 200 feet away from other structures.
